418 meritorious students get Zilla Parishad scholarships in Bagerhat

The Bagerhat District Council (Zilla Parishad) distributed financial scholarships to 418 meritorious students of the district to support their academic pursuits and inspire future excellence.
The stipend distribution ceremony was held at the Zilla Parishad Auditorium in the town on Saturday afternoon.
State Minister for Forest, Environment and Climate Change Dr. Sheikh Lion Faridul Islam graced the event as the chief guest, while Bagerhat District Council Administrator Barrister Sheikh Md. Zakir Hossain presided over the ceremony.
During the distribution, a total of 363 meritorious students who secured outstanding results in their SSC and HSC examinations across nine upazilas of the district were awarded Tk 6,000 each. Additionally, 55 advanced students currently enrolled in various government public universities and medical colleges received Tk 10,000 each to assist with their higher education expenses.
The ceremony was also addressed by notable local educationists, administrative officials, and political leaders, including PC College Principal Sheikh Jahangir Ali, former Secretary Sheikh Faridul Islam, and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue, Development, and Human Resource Management) Anup Das. Khanhazan Ali Degree College Principal Khandaker Asif Uddin Rakhi, District BNP Convener Engineer ATM Akram Hossain Talim, and Member Secretary Sheikh Mozaffar Rahman Alam were also among the distinguished guests present at the venue.
Speaking on the occasion, the guests congratulated the recipients and urged them to utilize the financial aid effectively.
