Education Minister in Barishal : HSC exam with common question paper in all boards

Masud Rana, Barishal Bureau

Education Minister Dr. ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon said that this year, HSC and equivalent examinations will be held in all nine education boards with the same question paper. If all education boards follow the same textbook, there is no logic in taking the exam with different question papers. If the exam is held with the same question paper, students of any board will not get extra opportunities and transparency will be ensured in the answer sheet evaluation process.

The Education Minister made these remarks in a speech as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting with the officers-in-charge of the center, organized by the Barisal Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board at the Barisal Shilpakala Academy at 9:00 am on Thursday, to conduct the HSC and equivalent examinations 2026 in a fair, beautiful and cheating-free environment.

Stating that the laws related to examinations have been made stricter to make public examinations fair, transparent and free from cheating, the minister said, "We amended the Public Examinations Act in 1980. The current law provides for strict punishment against anyone who creates chaos, riots or obstructs the examination process at the examination center. During the examination, law enforcement officers will use body cameras so that they can directly see the faces of the miscreants and take immediate punishment. In addition, all examination centers will be covered by CCTV cameras and there will be a monitor and archive system in the room of the officer-in-charge of each center. If there is a complaint against any center, the stored video footage will be reviewed and necessary action will be taken."

The Education Minister also said that in addition to providing mid-day meals in primary schools from July, arrangements will be made for school uniforms for students. Sports, cultural activities, religious education will be given importance from the fourth grade and technical and vocational education from the sixth grade. In addition, sufficient skilled teachers will be appointed in the future to eliminate the teacher shortage in primary schools.

The program was presided over by Barisal Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Chairman Professor Md. Yunus Ali Siddiqui, while Barisal 2 constituency MP Sardar Sarfuddin Ahmed, Divisional Commissioner Khalil Ahmed, Range DIG Md. Mostafizur Rahman, Barisal City Corporation Administrator Advocate Bilkis Akhter Jahan Shirin, District Council Administrator Akon Kuddusur Rahman, Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board Chairman Professor Khondaker Mohammad Sadequr Rahman and Bangladesh Technical Education Board Chairman Engineer Md. Ruhul Amin spoke as special guests.

Barishal Deputy Commissioner Md. Khairul Alam Sumon, Superintendent of Police A, Z, M Mostafizur Rahman, Deputy Police Commissioner Md. Sharfuddin, along with officials of secondary and higher secondary, madrasa and technical education boards under the Barisal region, political leaders and media personnel were present at the time.
