Human chain, bicycle rally demanding cancellation of climate debt

A human chain and bicycle rally were held in Kalapara, Patuakhali, demanding cancellation of climate debt. The human chain was formed on the banks of the Manik River in Andhar at 11 am on. Thursday.
Prominent columnist Mohammad Golam Nabi, former president of Kalapara Press Club Humayun Kabir, environmental organizer Mejbahuddin Mannu, journalists SM Mosharraf Hossain Mintu, Tanzil Zaman Joy, development organizer Saifullah Mahmud, Amara Kalaparabasi president Nazmus Shakib, environmental organizer Nazrul Islam, and others spoke here.
Later, a bicycle rally was held around the city with the participation of environmental activists and students. Various types of placards and festoons were displayed in the bicycle rally. This public awareness program was held under the joint initiative of the environmental advocacy organization Dharitree Raksha Amara Dhara, Water Keepers Bangladesh and Amara Kalaparabasi Voluntary Organization.
The program was attended by people from various walks of life, including environmental activists, teachers, development organizers, and students. Speakers demanded a just transition now, along with canceling climate debt and providing fair compensation.
