
Highway Police plants palm saplings to prevent lightning strikes in Jhenaidah

Palm saplings have been planted along the highway in Jhenaidah to prevent lightning strikes and maintain environmental balance. The sapling planting program was inaugurated by the Highway Police at Boraya Field on the Jhenaidah-Chuadanga Highway on Thursday morning.
Arappur Highway Police OC Mrityunjoy Biswas said that 200 palm saplings will be planted along the highway from Sadhuhati to 10 miles in Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila.
Stating that this initiative has been taken to prevent lightning strikes, maintain environmental balance and enhance the aesthetic beauty of the road, the OC said that through this program, on the one hand, people will be safe from the risk of lightning strikes, while on the other hand, a green environment will be created along the road. He also expressed hope that this tree plantation initiative will increase environmental awareness among the locals and play a role in combating climate change.
Highway Police Second Officer, SI Yasir Arafat, Sergeant Hossain Ahmed Turyo, ASI Rabiul Islam and others were present.
