
Memo to CA demanding implementation of Faridpur Division, dev of greater Faridpur

The Faridpur Development Committee has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Adviser through the Deputy Commissioner of Faridpur, demanding the immediate implementation of Faridpur Division along with the overall development of greater Faridpur.
The leaders of the Faridpur Development Committee handed over the memorandum to Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Kamrul Hasan Mollah.on Thursday.
The demands raised in the memorandum by the Faridpur Development Committee include: immediate implementation of Faridpur Division, establishment of a full-fledged public university, rapid commencement of the construction of the second Padma Bridge at Daulatdia–Paturia, quick upgradation of the Faridpur–Bhanga highway to four lanes, establishment of a “Science City” centered around the observatory at Bhanga, gas connection in Faridpur, establishment of a women’s cadet college, excavation from Tepakhola Lake to the Bhubaneswar River to connect it with the Padma River, preservation and restoration of the archaeological sites including the Baishrashi Zamindar House, and development of the Jasim Uddin Memorial Complex into a complete tourist center.
Committee President Dr. M. A. Jalil, General Secretary Professor Md. Abdul Aziz, member Advocate Abdus Samad, senior journalist Panna Bala, General Secretary of Faridpur Press Club Mahbub Hossain Pial, prominent lawyer Professor Tarek Aiyub Khan, Professor Azad Uddin, Professor Md. Mahbubur Rahman, Md. Hafizur Rahman Miah, and Alaudddin Ahmed were present.
Prof Md. Abdul Aziz, General Secretary, Faridpur Development Committee and a veteran educationist, said that for the sake of the country’s overall development, the prompt implementation of Faridpur Division and the construction of the second Padma Bridge at Daulatdia–Paturia have become the need of the hour.
