Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M. Rashiduzzaman Millat declared on Saturday that the government will take steps to reduce registration fees and amend existing regulations to simplify the registration process for tour operators and tour guides.

Speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair (BTTF) 2026, held under the theme "AI-Powered Tourism, Sustainable Destination" at the Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport, the minister emphasized that collaborative public-private partnerships are crucial for the sustainable growth, modernization, and global competitiveness of Bangladesh's tourism industry.

Minister M. Rashiduzzaman Millat stated that the government is actively formulating investment-friendly policies, improving tourism infrastructure, expanding the use of advanced technology, and enhancing service standards. He highlighted that integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), and digital platforms will streamline destination management, security, waste management, and emergency services, while increasing operational transparency and efficiency.

Addressing regulatory concerns, the minister assured that the ministry will seriously consider the recommendations submitted by industry leaders to streamline tour operator licensing. He committed to taking initiatives to lower registration fees and simplify professional compliance without compromising national interests. Regarding incentives, the minister announced that proposals to offer special financial incentives on tour operators' foreign currency earnings will be placed before the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Planning for policy review

The minister also disclosed that the government is formulating an integrated tourism master plan encompassing 1,498 designated tourist attractions nationwide, which will be developed progressively under Public-Private Partnership (PPP) models.

Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism Dr. Nurunnahar Chowdhury, along with senior ministry officials and key tourism sector stakeholders, attended the event.
