Global Handwashing Day observed in Dumki

World Handwashing Day -25 was celebrated in Dumki Upazila on Wednesday.
A rally, handwashing exhibition and discussion meeting were organized by the Upazila Administration and the Public Health Engineering Department in the morning.
The colourful rally started from the Upazila Parishad premises in the morning and after parading various important roads, it met in the Upazila Auditorium for a discussion meeting.
UNO Mohammad Abuzar Md. Ijazul Haque was present as the chief guest. He said, "Cleanliness is a part of faith. Our hands often become carriers of pathogens. We need to develop the habit of washing hands regularly. We want the next generation to grow up healthy and lead the nation by becoming heroes of handwashing."
The event was presided over by Md. Nipa Begum, Executive Engineer of the Dumki Public Health Engineering Department. Upazila BNP President Khalilur Rahman, General Secretary Saiful Alam Mridha, Upazila Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Jalal Uddin, Government Janata College Assistant Professor Shahidul Islam, and leaders of various political parties, teachers, students, public representatives and representatives of social organizations were present.
Later, awareness leaflets were distributed among the participants following the hygiene rules.#
