Frequent loadshedding hits public life in Bhuapur, death of women due to heat stroke

People's life has become miserable at Bhuapur in Tangail due to hourly load shedding of electricity and intense heat.

As there is no electricity day and night, the situation is starving. A woman named Salma died of heatstroke on Friday night. According to the electricity authorities, frequent load shedding is being done due to less supply of electricity compared to demand.

Meanwhile, children and elderly people are suffering from various diseases due to intense heat. A retired sergeant's wife died of heatstroke on Friday night.

According to sources of Bhuyapur Electricity Department, the electricity requirement under Bhuyapur substation is 24 MW. 13-15 15 MW electricity is available there. 106 kb power volt out of 132 kb volt power is low-voltage power. It provides hourly load shedding in cities and longer load shedding at village level.

It is known that due to lack of electricity, the land is bursting due to not being able to give water to the paddy. Paddy is ripening under intense sun. Farmers are afraid of catching leopards in rice. As there is no rain, the mangoes are falling off the tree. Poultry farm chickens are dying due to extreme heat. The farmers are destitute. The number of patients in upazila health complex is increasing. Doctors are struggling to provide medical care. There is a shortage of beds. There is no room for the patients in the balcony.

Salma Begum (50), wife of retired sergeant Sanaullya of Charpara area of Fakirpara municipality died of heatstroke on Friday night. Earlier, he was rescued and brought to Upazila Health Complex. Later the doctor declared him dead.

Dr. Upazila Health Complex Officer. Abdus Sobhan said that a woman was brought to the hospital at night. He died before being taken to the hospital. He died due to heat stroke.

Kamrul Islam Titu, a medicine trader in Bhuyapur Bazar, said that there was a lot of load shedding on Friday. Power went out after 12pm and came back at 4pm. Left again at 6 am after staying for two hours. There is not much electricity available throughout the day.

Anwarul Islam, Executive Engineer of Bhuyapur Power Sales and Distribution Department said, "We are forced to provide load shedding as power supply is less than the demand. As much electricity as is available is being distributed.
