Four arrested for gambling at Hatibandha Mela

Police arrested four people for gambling at the historic Pelkar Kura Buri Mela in Hatibandha, Lalmonirhat on Tuesday night at the East Bichan Dai area under Dowabari Union. The arrested individuals were sent to jail on Wednesday morning. They are Mohammad Mahbubul Hasan Apurba (19), Md. Nazrul Islam (55), Md. Abu Sufiyan (35), Md. Khorshed Alam (40).
Hatibandha police conducted the raid after receiving reports of illegal gambling activities at the mela ground. Gambling tools and cash were seized during the operation. The OC confirmed legal action will be taken against the accused.
