
Two killed in bus-CNG collision in Chakaria

Two passengers were killed in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway in Chakaria.
The accident occurred around 5:30 PM on Thursday in the Ambagan area of Baniarchar in Chakaria upazila, confirmed Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chiringa Highway Police Station, Ariful Amin.
The deceased have been identified as Shahidul Islam (27), son of Monowar Alam from Sabekpara in Ward No. 1 of Chakaria Municipality, and Nurul Haque (25), son of Maulana Kamal Hossain from the same area.
OC Ariful Amin said, a passenger bus of S.A. Paribahan was en route to Chattogram from Cox’s Bazar. Upon reaching the Ambagan area in Baniarchar on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway, the bus collided head-on with a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction. Two passengers of the auto-rickshaw died on the spot. The highway police later recovered the bodies.
