Former Khulna MP Mizanur Rahman gets 3-yr RI in ACC case during Awami rule

Former member of Parliament of Khulna-2 Mizanur Rahman has been convicted for three years rigorous imprisonment on Thursady by a Dhaka court.
He was presented in the tribunal of the Special Judge's Court-1 in Dhaka at 9:30 am.
According to the case sources, Manjur Morshed, the director of the ACC filed the case against Mizanur Rahman on August 7, accusing him of acquiring non-known income assets. After the investigation, he filed the charge sheet in the court on August 27, 2012.
The accused was accused of acquiring non-knowledgeable assets worth Tk 1 crore 5 lakh 5 thousand. The court has given the fine.
On Thursday (January 30th), the judge of the Special Judge Court-1 of Dhaka,Abu Taher announced the verdict.
In the judgement that former parliamentarian Mizan was sentenced to 3 (three) years of rigorous imprisonment under section 20 (2) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 20 and section 20 (1) of the Act was sentenced to 5 (five) years of rigorous imprisonment and both the bar will run together. In the past, the hazard will be excluded from the sentence.
