Five RMG factories set on fire in Savar

Miscreants set fire to five ready-made garment (RMG) factories at Ashulia in Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka, on Sunday.
According to the Fire Service and Civil Defence, Sinha Textile in the Jirani area, and two others owned by Hamim Group and Bengal were among the five factories.
Confirming the matter, DEPZ Fire Service Senior Station Officer Pranab Chowdhury said they also heard that unruly people also attempted to torch more factories situated on both sides of Tongi-Ashulia-EPZ Road.
He said members of the Fire Service and Civil Defence could not reach the spots as protesters barred them on the way.
At least 90 people, including 14 police members, were killed and hundreds of others injured as violent clashes among students and other protesters as well as police and ruling Awami League men spread across Bangladesh on Sunday.
Bangladesh witnessed a deadly day today with protesting students and other demonstrators taking to the streets in the capital and a number of districts as they held a massive rally at the Central Shaheed Minar on Saturday and announced a one-point demand for the resignation of the government.
The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, a platform for protesting students, announced an all-out non-cooperation movement starting on Sunday, to realise the demand.
