Fire breaks out in furniture factory in Tongi

A fire broke out in a furniture factory and warehouse at Tongi in Gazipur.
The incident took place at around 10:15 a.m at Satai Dakshinpara area on Friday.
Two units of Tongi Fire Service brought the fire under control. Two factory assistants Zaheer and Shamim were injured while trying to put out the fire.
Tongi Fire Service official Iqbal Hasan said, on Friday morning, a fire broke out in a furniture factory in Satais Dakshinpara area.
Tongi informed the fire service if the fire was not controlled by the efforts of the locals. Later, the personnel of two units of the fire service reached the spot and brought the fire under control after almost an hour.
Two people were reportedly injured in the fire caused by an electrical short circuit.
However, the owner of the factory, MA Hanif, claimed that about goods worth Tk 80 lakhn were burnt in the fire.
