Food Minister inaugurates Boro paddy, wheat procurement drive of 11 dists

Internal Boro paddy, rice and wheat procurement programme -2024 were auspiciously inaugurated at Shibganj in Bogura onTuesday.
Minister of Food Sadhan Chandra Majumder MP inaugurated the procurement programme as the chief guest in 11 districts of the country through online response organized by the Ministry of Food.
As part of this program, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Tahmina Akhter inaugurated food procurement drive at Mokamtala Food Warehouse. Mokamtala warehouse LSD Officer-in-charge Debayan Bagchi, Shibganj food inspector Faruq Hossain, Bogura District Auto Haskin Rice Mill Owners Association general secretary Alhaj Aminul Haque Dudu, farmer Yunus Kazi were present.
Shibganj Upazila Food Controller Paritosh Kumar Kundu said that the target of purchasing 1308 metric tons of paddy and 3376 metric tons of boiled rice has been adopted in this upazila. This time the price of paddy per kg has been fixed at Tk 32 and rice at Tk 45 per kg for millers.
Each farmer can sell a maximum of 3 tonnes of paddy and rice at the prescribed miller mass.
