Fire at Chattogram slum, burns down 200 shanties

A fire broke out at a slum in Firingibazar area under Kotwali Police Station in Chattogram port city early Monday afternoon.
Fire Service's Chattogram regional DAD Abdur Razzaq said the fire originated at about 1:15pm at Yakub Nagar slum in the Firingibazar area.
Six fire fighting units from Nandankanon, Lamarbazar and Agrabad Fire Station managed to douse the blaze at about 2:15pm.
But the reason behind the fire could not be known immediately.
No casualties have been reported from the fire as of 2:45pm.
Two hundred shanties of the slum were burnt down in the fire.
