FES Resident Representative pays courtesy call on DU VC

Dr. Felix Gerdes, Resident Representative of Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES), a German non-profit organization, Bangladesh, paid a courtesy call on Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam at his office on Wednesday. FES Program Advisor Sadhan Kumar Das accompanied him.
During the meeting, they emphasized on strengthening bilateral relations between Dhaka University and various universities in Germany through educational and research cooperation. They also discussed the possibility of undertaking joint collaborative educational and research activities between Dhaka University and Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Germany in the areas of climate change, labor rights, capacity building, and democratic principles and values.
They emphasize the creation of new knowledge and its dissemination to the younger generation through research, publication, and dialogue, with the aim of building a knowledge-based and advanced society.
The resident representative of FES expressed interest in working with Dhaka University in jointly conducting research activities and publishing research papers to develop democratic values in society.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam thanked the guest for coming to Dhaka University and expressing deep interest in its education and research activities.
