‎‎Meheruban Habib, Patgram (Lalmonirhat)

‎A Partner Field School Congress was held in Patgram of Lalmonirhat to promote the use of modern agricultural technology, increase crop production, and improve the financial condition of farmers.
‎
‎The congress was organized on Sunday  at around 12:00 PM at the Upazila Parishad hallroom under the “Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience in Bangladesh (PARTNER)” project.
‎
‎The event was chaired by UNO Tanvir Hossain. Barrister Hasan Rajib Prodhan, Member of Parliament for Lalmonirhat-1 (Patgram-Hatibandha), attended the program as the chief guest.
‎
‎Special guests included Deputy Director of the Department of Agricultural Extension at Khamarbari, agriculturist Dr. Saikhul Arifin, and Senior Monitoring Officer of the PARTNER Project, Ashok Kumar Roy.
‎
‎Upazila Agriculture Officer Mostafa Hasan Imam delivered the welcome speech. In his speech, he said the main objective of the PARTNER Congress is to expand the cultivation area of high-yield crop varieties by 200,000 hectares and increase the farming area of cereal crops, pulses, oilseeds, and horticultural crops by another 200,000 hectares.

‎He also said the project aims to make agricultural extension services, subsidy support, and loan assistance more accessible through the “Farmer Smart Card” system. In addition, the project plans to provide training to 20,000 young men and women as agricultural entrepreneurs to promote agricultural innovation and commercialization.
‎
‎Speaking at the event, the chief guest said the main purpose of the program is to further increase the country’s agricultural production.
