Rangpur Bureau

The biennial election of Reporters’ Club, Rangpur was held on Saturday in a festive atmosphere.

Through a general meeting, a 13-member committee was elected through ballot voting. DBC News senior reporter and Rangpur Bureau Chief Majed Masud and Daily Khola Kagoj Correspondent Mizanur Rahman Lulu were jointly elected general secretary after receiving equal votes. Shah Bayezid Ahmed, Rangpur Bureau Chief of 71 TV, was elected as the president of the committee.

After the dissolution of the 2023-2025 Executive Committee, the election ceremony chaired by senior member of the club, Halim Ansari, Mohammad Nuruzzaman, the Rangpur Divisional Chief of  Dainik Sangram, was elected as vice-president. Abdur Rashid Jiban, Staff reporter of ‘Somoy Television, was elected as joint general secretary. Amirul Islam, reporter of DBC News, was elected as treasurer. Enamul Haque, reporter of  Dainik Prothom Khabar, was elected as organizing secretary. Shahin Alam, office secretary of 71 Television, Bariul Islam Lavlu, representative of Dainik Inqilab, was elected as sports secretary. Barnali Zaman, newsreader of Rangpur Betar, was elected as literature and publicity secretary.

Also elected as members of the executive committee were Halim Ansari, senior reporter of Dainik Inqilab, news editor of  Dainik Prothom Khabar, Touhidul Islam Babla, Senior Journalist Mozaffar Hossain and reporter of Gazi Television, Azam Parvez.

The outgoing committee congratulated the newly elected committee for the fiscal year 2025-2027. It is worth noting that since the two generals were jointly elected, it was decided that they would serve for one year in succession.
