DU remains best in Bangladesh in QS World Rankings, ranked 584 globally

The University of Dhaka has once again secured its position as the top-ranked higher education institution in Bangladesh in the latest QS World University Rankings 2026: Top Global Universities, published by the renowned UK-based education and research organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). 

For the second consecutive year, Dhaka University has been placed among the world’s top 600 universities, ranking 584th globally.
 
 
This year’s QS ranking evaluated a total of 1,501 universities worldwide. To assess the overall quality of these institutions, QS uses nine indicators, each with a maximum score of 100. The final ranking is determined based on the average of these scores.
 
Dhaka University achieved an overall score of 28.70. In terms of academic reputation, the university scored 30.50, while it received 6.90 for citations per faculty. For teaching experience measured by faculty-to-student ratio, the score was 10.50. In employment outcomes, Dhaka University scored an impressive 97.00, and 51.30 for employer reputation.
 
In the global engagement category, the university scored 2.20 for international faculty ratio, 57.80 for international research network, 1.40 for international student ratio, and 1.30 for student diversity. In the sustainability indicator, Dhaka University achieved a score of 54.20.
 
This accomplishment reflects the University of Dhaka’s ongoing commitment to excellence in education, research, global engagement, and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
