
DU becomes champion in National Collegiate Programming Contest

Dhaka University team 'Ascending' of the Computer Science and Engineering Department became champion in the final round of National Collegiate Programming Contest (NCPC) 2023.
The final round was held on March 8 and 9 at the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Jahangirnagar University.
Team members of the 'DU_Ascending' – Jubayer Rahman, Nayeemul Islam Swad and Ayon Shahrier participated in the contest, with Md Mahmudur Rahman as the team's coach.
Besides, ‘SUST_GuessForces’ team of Shahjalal University of Science & Technology, Sylhet and 'BUET_Nightfall' team of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) secured the first-runner-up and second-runner-up respectively in the contest.
Later at the concluding ceremony of the contest, Prof Mohammad Kaykobad, a distinguished professor of BRAC University, handed over the prizes among the conquerors.
This year, a total of 1,100 teams from 114 universities and colleges across the country participated virtually in the preliminary stage of the competition.
However, 200 teams, among them, have been selected for the final stage of the competition. The contest also featured a seminar on ‘The evolution and future of competitive programming in Bangladesh’ including fun event games for contestants and many more.
