Disaster Management and Relief Secretary stands by affected farmers in K'ganj haors

Md. Saidur Rahman Khan, Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, has visited the Haor regions of Kishoreganj to personally assess the extensive agricultural damage caused by heavy rainfall and upstream flash floods.
He visited various inundated areas across Itna, Mithamain, and Ashtagram upazilas, engaging directly with affected farmers to hear about their grievances.on Tuesday.
During his visit, the Secretary reassured the farmers that, on behalf of the Honorable Prime Minister, a three-month special financial assistance program has been launched for those affected. He directed relevant officials to maintain maximum transparency to ensure that the aid reaches the hands of genuine farmers. He specifically emphasized that there must be no irregularities in preparing the list of beneficiaries and that only the truly affected individuals are included.
The Secretary was accompanied by Mizabe Rahmat, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) of Kishoreganj; Badru dduza, District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer; and other senior officials of the local administration. The government’s proactive stance in supporting the farmers has generated a positive response at the local level.
