Amid the bustling crowds of the capital, countless stories of daily life remain unseen stories devoid of limelight or publicity, carrying only the raw struggle for survival.

Afroza, a 26-27-year-old mother, finds herself in such a reality. Cradling her 11-month-old infant, Taiyeba, who cries out intermittently for affection, she faces the harshest realities of life. The baby is frail and clad in torn clothes, yet the mother's care knows no bounds. Material shortages are overshadowed by her deep, unfeigned maternal love—a rare bond in the twenty-first century.

Afroza's mother lives in a cramped 5-foot by 3-foot shack in a Mirpur slum. With no space for Afroza and her daughter inside, Afroza and little Taiyeba sleep under a tree right beside the slum room. Sun, rain, storms, roaring traffic, and dust are their constant companions.

To earn a morsel of food and secure a meal for her child, Afroza chose the driver's seat of an auto-rickshaw. Tying her baby securely to her body, she embodies the indomitable spirit of motherhood—proving that true parental love never bows to adversity.

Learning of Afroza and her daughter's courageous struggle, Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanm has stepped forward to support them recently . As part of the government's ongoing commitment to building a welfare-oriented state, the district administration has initiated steps to provide them with necessary assistance.
