Autumn Durga Puja started with Shasthi Puja in 214 mandaps of Narayanganj district, the shrine of communal harmony. Mahasaptami Puja started yesterday Thursday (October 10) with devotees offering garlands in various mandaps.

Mahasaptami puja program started at 6:10 am yesterday. Which ends at 11 am. The rituals of worship are going on throughout the day by worshiping Chandi and mantras, seeing the goddess, offering anjali to the devotees at the feet of the goddess, taking prasad.

Various puja mandaps in the city were visited on Thursday, with devotees flocking to the mandap on the second day of Sharadiya Durgotsav. Every mandap is resounding with sanga, dhak, kansar, bells and uludbhani. Each mandap has been painted with the touch of various crafts, artists' paints. Along with that, the festive mood has become more colorful with beautiful lighting. There is no end to the colorful decorations, noise and grand fanfare. Chandi reading is going on in every place of worship.

The rituals of worship will continue throughout the day through devotees' worship - archana, devi-darshan, offering flowers to devotees at the feet of the deity, taking prasad. Crowds are seen in the mandap for worship in the morning. However, idol darshan will continue from afternoon till late night. At that time, the crowd of consumers will increase several times. Everyone from the beloved children of the house to the grandmothers are coming to see the idol.

According to Sanatani Shastra, in 2024 the result may be scattered due to the transit of the goddess on a horse. According to the Shastras this Ghotak Gaman indicates social and political chaos.

Meanwhile, Mahaashtami puja will be held today on Friday and Mahanavami on Saturday. According to the calendar, Dashami Vihit Puja will be held on Sunday after Mahanavami Puja.

It should be noted that the Punyalagna of Devi Paksha and Sharidiya Durgotsava started on October 2 through Mahalaya.
