Dengue claims 8 more lives, 1,432 hospitalised in 24 hrs

Eight more people died of dengue and 1,432 others were admitted to hospitals across the country in the 24 hours until 8:00am on Saturday.
With the latest fatality, the dengue death toll has risen to 219 this year, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Among the deaths, five were reported in Khulna Division, two in Dhaka Division (outside Dhaka city corporations), and one in Dhaka South City Corporation, it said.
Currently, 5,066 dengue patients are undergoing treatment at different hospitals across the country.
Since January 1 this year, a total of 71,536 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country. Of them, 66,256 have recovered.
