
College student dies after snake bite in Gaibandha

Enamul Haque, an 18-year-old college student, died on Tuesday night after being bitten by a venomous snake in Konapara village, Idilpur Union, Sadar Upazila, Gaibandha. Enamul was the son of Hafizar Rahman and a student of the 11th grade at Dhaperhat Technical College.
According to sources, Enamul went to the paddy field at night to catch fish using local fishing tools (thusi) when the snake suddenly bit him. Initially, he did not consider it serious, but after returning home, eating, and sleeping, he began showing symptoms of poisoning. His family rushed him to the nearby Pirganj Upazila Health Complex.
On the advice of doctors, he was being taken to Rangpur Medical College Hospital but unfortunately passed away around 3 a.m. Idilpur Union Chairman, Bir Muktijoddha Abdur Rahman, confirmed the incident.
