Coast Guard sets up RO plant to ensure safe drinking water in Mongla's Joymonir Ghol

The Bangladesh Coast Guard has installed a Reverse Osmosis (RO) water purification plant at Joymonir Ghol Government Primary School premises in Mongla upazila of Bagerhat district to address the long-standing drinking water crisis faced by local residents.
Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan, media officer of the Coast Guard headquarters informed this in a press release on Tuesday noon.
According to the Coast Guard, the modern RO plant was inaugurated on Tuesday morning by Coast Guard Base Mongla as part of ongoing public welfare initiatives to support coastal and riverine communities.
The installation will provide reliable access to pure drinking water for school teachers, students, and staff, as well as residents of the surrounding Joymonir Ghol area. Officials noted that the facility will play a crucial role in mitigating waterborne diseases and promoting healthier living standards in the locality.
The Coast Guard reiterated its commitment to continuing such community-oriented services for the welfare of people living in coastal and riverside regions across the country.
