CID attaches assets worth Tk 250cr of Salman, his associates

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police has confiscated wealth and properties worth around Tk250 crore owned by BEXIMCO Group Vice-Chairman Salma F Rahman and some persons and entities linked to him.
The Financial Crime Unit of the CID confiscated the properties over the last few days, said a press release from the agency on Thursday.
According to the press release, the seized wealth and properties include 2,000 decimal of land in Dohar in Dhaka and establishments built on the land, a 6,189.54 sq ft flat in “The Envoy 84” at Gulshan-2, which is owned by Salma’s son Shahriar Rahman, and another duplex in Gulshan.
All the confiscated wealth and properties are estimated to be worth around Tk250 crore.
The Financial Crime Unit said that it filed 17 cases against Salman and the persons and entities linked to him for laundering $83 billion.
