Child marriage stopped at Intervention of Shyamnagar UNO

Child marriage was prevented through the intervention of the Upazila Executive Officer of Shyamnagar, Satkhira on Wednesday.
The child marriage of a seventh-grade student from Choto Kupt village in Atulia Union Parishad was stopped. SM Arifuzzaman, an officer at the Upazila Social Services Office, reported that the family of a seventh-grade student of Rafiqul Islam from Atulia Union Parishad had made preparations to complete the marriage ceremony at a relative’s house in Shrifolkati village of Ishwaripur Union Parishad.
Being informed of this, UNO Ms. Rani Khatun instructed Upazila Social Services Officer Md. Delowar Hossain to take necessary steps to prevent the child marriage. By the afternoon, all arrangements for the child marriage were halted.
