Cheques distributed among affected landowners for acquired land in Gopalganj

Under the project titled "Upgradation of Tekerhat–Gopalganj (Haridaspur)–Mollahat (Ghonapara) Regional Highway to Appropriate Standards and Width", L.A. (Land Acquisition) cheques were distributed among landowners affected by land acquisition.
The event was organized by the Gopalganj District Administration and took place on Thursday at 3:30 PM in the conference room “Swachchhata” of the Deputy Commissioner’s office.
The program was presided over by Biswajit Kumar Pal, Deputy Director (Deputy Secretary), Local Government Division.
Conducted by Gopalganj Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) S.M. Tarek Sultan, the L.A. cheques distribution ceremony was attended by Md. Azharul Islam, Executive Engineer of the Roads and Highways Department (RHD) in Gopalganj, along with Assistant Commissioners and Executive Magistrates from the Land Acquisition and Revenue Branches of the district administration, including Prabir Biswas and Nejarat Deputy Collector (NDC) Ronti Poddar. Also present were various administrative officials and media personnel from both electronic and print outlets active in the district.
After proper verification of required documents by the Land Acquisition branch of the Gopalganj District Administration, a check of 11,25,558.33 BDT (Eleven lakh twenty-five thousand five hundred fifty-eight taka and thirty-three poisha) was handed over to Santosh Talukder, an affected landowner from the Jhalirpar area of Muksudpur, by the Deputy Director of the Local Government Division and other attending officials.
