Dakshin Surma Upazila Parishad Chairman candidate Md. Juwel Ahmed announced the election manifesto. Jewel announced his election manifesto through a press conference at an elite hotel in the upazila Sylhet on Sunday,

In a written speech at the press conference, Jewel Ahmed said, resident of Sarkar Bari of Faridpur village of Lalabazar Union, Jewel's family has a special tradition of always working for the welfare of people from their ancestors till today.

He started dreaming of working with people from his teenage years, recalling his father's footsteps. Even though he stayed in foreign soil for the need of livelihood, he always had a special attraction towards his locality, so in the context of time, he came to the soil of the country and stood by the people. He tried to maintain good relations with the people of the area to consolidate his position. He has extended his hand for people in every crisis moment including past corona, flood. To take his limited activities to a larger scale, Jewel Ahmed has become a chairman candidate with the love of the people in the upcoming upazila parishad elections.

He said, the upazila next to Sylhet is the famous Dakshin Surma upazila, the gateway to the divisional city. Development of this upazila as a people-friendly and modern upazila is the demand of the time. Upazila Parishad plays a constructive and strong role at the local government level to advance the development activities of the government by coordinating with the administration and taking all the public and private organizations along.

Since the establishment of the upazila till date, the upazila has not been completed due to various complications. Due to which the people are deprived of their full rights. He requested the upazila residents to adopt a realistic plan to organize the Dakshin Surma Upazila Parishad and choose the right leadership for its implementation.

He called upon the people of South Surama to vote for the horse symbol to fulfill their basic needs including communication, education and medical treatment.

He said that this year's Upazila Parishad election is a golden opportunity to increase the speed of the wheel of fortune of the people of South Surama on the highway of development. Jewel expressed his commitment to make Dakshina Surma a smart and beautiful upazila by making maximum use of his talents and abilities.

In the manifesto, he further strengthened the communication system development activities of each township of the upazila, construction of roads, bridges, tree planting program, ensuring clean water and waste disposal system, taking necessary steps to ensure a fair environment for education in every educational institution of the upazila, improving the quality of health services of the upazila residents with appropriate authorities.

Efforts to bring health services to the doorsteps of the people by keeping coordination, carrying out vigorous activities to build people-friendly upazilas in constant coordination with the community and public representatives on the government, taking and implementing timely measures for the development of sports in the upazila, providing government grants as well as personal support for the helpless and poor people of the upazila, technical and Setting up technology-based training centers, ensuring employment and empowerment of women, maintaining social security of heroic freedom fighters and their families, zero tolerance policy against militancy, terrorism, theft, dacoity, abuse of women and children, drugs and gambling, elderly and underprivileged women.

He expressed his determination to build a people-friendly upazila by distributing the allowances given by the government on the basis of fairness, ensuring all the facilities of a modern city in every village, and ensuring the earning path of at least one person in every family. He requested the upazilas to vote for the horse symbol in the May 8 election to implement his future plans.
