Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University(BSMRSTU) Teachers' Association of Gopalganj has again given an ultimatum.

If you fail to fulfill this ultimatum, a new harsh decision may come. It is assumed that academic or administrative activities may be stopped.

It is known that the salary of the teachers was pending during the lockdown period. Then a new dimension is added to the problem of promotion. The promotion of teachers has been stuck for more than 1 year. Both the former association of teachers and the present association have held several meetings with the Vice-Chancellor in this regard. It is known that the Vice-Chancellor is not promoting them on the pretext. On the other hand, teachers and officials are suffering from complications related to due dates. Vice-chancellors and Pro vice-chancellors are also indifferent about this. Such a demand has been made by the leading persons of the teachers' association.

According to a source in the teachers' association, due to due dates, many teachers are stuck with more than two lakh taka.

According to the sources of the teachers association, the demands of the teachers were passed in the last 29th Board of Regents. There were other issues including due date complications. But even after being passed by that board, they were taken away by the 38th Board of Regents. As a result, before the 39th Board of Regents, the members of the teachers' association re-informed the demands to the Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Treasurer. But that didn't work either. As a result of which, on May 30 (Thursday) after discussions with ordinary teachers, the office of Vice-Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and Treasurer has been locked by the teachers' association.

Meanwhile, on the same day (last Thursday) the registrar of the university. University officials called for continuous agitation against Dalilur Rahman. According to official sources, the registrar will not be allowed to participate in any work from Sunday (today). If the registrar participates in any work, the officers declare to abstain from all activities. Officials claim that the appointment of the registrar is irregular. The agitation will continue until action is taken after investigating how he got the job.

It can be seen from the surface, today 2 June (Sunday) the rooms of Vice-Chancellor, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Registrar are locked. No officers or employees of those offices can enter the office

However, classroom teaching was going on amid the movement of teachers' associations and the movement of officials. There was no disruption in administrative activities either. Teaching and examination are going on in many departments.

Why has the movement of teachers been so strong? In response to such questions, the general secretary of the university teachers' association, Md. Bashir Uddin said, Why teachers are not being promoted for so long? Where is the problem? Why is the due date?

It is known that the teacher's association gave 2 ultimatums earlier. They have long been vocal in their demands by stopping classroom teaching and ongoing examinations. The association came back thinking that the students were falling into session jam.

He has been given time till Thursday this week. If he can get the teachers' demands passed by the Board of Regents during that time, the teachers' union will take a hard line.

He said that there will be no problem in academic or administrative work.
