Brutal attack on expatriate's wife with intent to kill, uproot her from land in Feni

An Omani expatriate's wife has been brutally attacked in Sonagazi, Feni, with the intention of uprooting her from the land. The incident occurred at the house of Solaiman in Charsahbikari village of Chardarbesh union of the upazila with Sahima Akter Lucky, the wife of Solaiman.
According to the complaint and local sources, while Solaiman, an expatriate from Oman, is in exile, his brothers, nieces and cousins have set their sights on his immovable and movable properties. They are desperate to seize everything by killing Solaiman's wife, uprooting her from the land, and getting possession of everything.
In view of this, on the evening of October 4 , in the presence and with the direct assistance of his maternal uncle, Dewar Delwar, Lucky was arrested in his house, tied up, and tortured with a whip around his hands and face.
Victim Sahima Akhter Lucky said that at least 10 people, including her elder brother-in-law Yunus and his wife Laili Begum, son Emon, brother-in-law Harun's daughter Ferdaus, maternal uncle Ibrahim and his two sons Fahad and Zubair, and maternal uncle Dewar Anwar, brutally attacked her with sticks in a medieval style, seriously injuring her. Hearing Lucky's screams, neighbors came forward and rescued her and sent her to the hospital. Lucky fell to the ground after being hit repeatedly with sticks by her maternal uncle's son Fahad, who was also involved in the attack.
Local BNP leader and former chairman of Char Darbesh Union, Abul Kalam Azad, said that there has been a long-standing land dispute between the two parties. I have told both parties that the issue will be resolved through a social meeting.
When contacted to inquire about the matter, accused Delwar said that the plaintiff, Lucky, was not killed, but pretended to be killed.
In this incident, Lucky, who was seriously injured, filed a complaint with Sonagazi Model Police Station, naming Delwar as the first accused, and the police visited the scene. Sonagazi Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Saiful Alam, after receiving the truth of the complaint, said that the accused will be brought to justice after an investigation.
