Bomb-like object recovered near NCP rally site in Gangni

Police have recovered a bomb-like object from the rally site of the central leaders of the NCP in Gangni, Meherpur.
Although the incident caused panic in the area for some time, the police quickly brought the situation under control. The object was recovered from an abandoned vegetable bag in front of the counter of Hanif Paribahan in the Gangni bus stand area around 12:30 pm on Monday (July 27). Locals said that a march and road meeting with the participation of NCP central leaders was scheduled to be held in the bus stand area on Monday afternoon. Locals became suspicious after seeing a bag lying abandoned for a long time near the rally site. Later, when they informed, the Gangni police reached the spot and searched the bag. After finding a bomb-like object inside the bag, the police took it to the police station with security. Gangni Police Station OC Muhaddid Morshed Chowdhury said that after receiving the information, the police quickly reached the spot and recovered the bomb-like object. Experts will test whether the object is actually explosive or not.
