16 researchers from DU get Ph.D.; 16 obtained M.Phil degrees.

Some 16 researchers have recently obtained Ph.D, 16 M.Phil and 1 D.B.A. degrees from Dhaka University. These degrees were conferred on them at a meeting of the Syndicate held on 31 August 2026. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. A.B.M. Obaidul Islam presided over the meeting.
The Ph.D. degree recipients are: Zahid Hasan Sarkar and Sanjida Masud under the Department of Bengali, Masrurul Haque and Md. Ismail Hossain under the Department of Arabic, Shariful Islam Bhuiyan under the Department of Islamic History and Culture, Tanzia Siddika under the Department of Linguistics, Mohammad Amjad Hossain under the Department of Mathematics, Abu Sadat Muhammad Asif under the Department of Management Information Systems, Mohammad Samiul Islam under the Department of Public Administration, Farhana Haque under the Department of Population Sciences, Amena Khatun under the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies, Bipul Krishna Das under the Department of Zoology, Neelima Barman under the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Md. Golam Kibria under the Department of Disaster Science and Climate Resilience, Debashish Pal under the Department of History of Arts and Mohammad Rizwanul Ahsan under the Institute of Nutrition and Food Sciences.
The M.Phil degree recipients are: Sumaiya Alam under the English Department, Muhammad Badruddin Sadi, Nurullah and Mohammad Sazed under the Arabic Department, Md. Alpana Akhtar under the Urdu Department, Md. Abdullah Al Mubashir under the Islamic Studies Department, Sathi Khatun under the Islamic History and Culture Department, Romana Rahman under the Information Science and Library Management Department, Dewan Afrida Hamid under the Management Department, Md. Zahid Hossain Khan under the Communication Disorders Department, H.D. Raju Ahmed under the Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department, Muhammad Kabir Hossain and Abdul Mannan under the Institute of Education and Research, Mohammad Nazrul Islam under the Institute of Nutrition and Food Science, Sabikunnahar and Khandaker Nahid Hasano under the Institute of Social Welfare and Research.
