
BGB-BSF Commander-level meet held in Jibannagar

A battalion commander-level meeting was held between Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Jibannagar border in Chuadanga.
The meeting was held in the Changkhali area of Medinapur BOP of the upazila's border union from 5:00 pm to 6:45 pm on Friday afternoon.
The meeting was attended by BGB's 58th Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md. Rafiqul Alam and 12 staff officers under his leadership.
On the other hand, BSF's 32nd Battalion Commandant Mr. Sujit Kumar and 12 staff officers under his leadership.
In a press release sent to the media on Friday night, BGB's 58th Battalion Assistant Director and Acting Quartermaster Md. Saiful Islam gave this information.
The BGB statement further said that the meeting between the border guards of the two countries held fruitful discussions on various important issues including enhancing mutual understanding, maintaining a peaceful environment on the border, preventing border killings, and taking effective steps to prevent drug and smuggling.
After the discussion, the commanders of both forces inspected 18 border pillars including Main Pillar 64, 64/1-S, 64/2-S and 64/3-S. At the same time, they walked along the nearly two and a half kilometer long zero line between those pillars and observed the situation.
Finally, they pledged to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the border guards of the two countries.
