
Bank official's house robbed of cash, gold ornaments worth Tk 10 lakh

A robbery incident occurred at the house of bank official Mohabbat Hossain in Morichipasha village of Lohagara, Narail on Thursday.
Thieves broke into the house by cutting the window grill and stole cash, gold ornaments, TV, fridge, water pump and various goods worth about Tk 10 lakh. Police inspected the scene on Friday morning.
Bank official Mohabbat Hossain has filed a written complaint with Lohagara police station in this regard.
Police and locals have informed that a group of thieves entered the house of Sonali Bank manager Mohabbat Hossain, adjacent to the Moricha Pasha West Para Mosque in Joypur Union of the upazila, sometime on Thursday night by cutting the grill of the kitchen window of the one-story building and breaking into the gas stove, cistern, water pump, pressure cooker, rice cooker, television, cupboard and chest of drawers and stealing various items including cash, gold ornaments, clothes. The value of which is estimated at 10 lakh taka.
Bank official Mohabbat Hossain said that the thieves found the house empty due to their mother going to visit their elder brother in Dhaka and stole all the items by cutting the grill of the window of the house. We have informed the police station about the incident and filed a written complaint.
OC of Lohagara Police Station Ashiqur Rahman, the incident will be investigated and the accused will be arrested.
