Awareness campaign to stop marketing, use of polythene bags in Muradnagar

As part of the drive to stop the sale and use of banned polythene and polypropylene shopping bags, eco-friendly net bags have been distributed along with an awareness campaign in Muradnagar Upazila of Cumilla on Thursday.
Muradnagar upazila administration distributed awareness net bags and anti-polythene awareness campaign in the upazila sadar market shops.
During the campaign, general businessmen and shoppers were informed about the dangers of banned polyethylene and polypropylene shopping bags by handing them eco-friendly net bags.
Muradnagar Upazila Executive Officer Sifat Uddin highlighted the issue of banning the use of this banned bag and gave an idea about the legal issues.
Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Sakib Hashan Khan, Upazila Agriculture Officer Pavel Khan Pappu, Senior Fisheries Officer SM Shahjahan Siraj, Upazila Development Facilitator Officer Zahidul Islam, Upazila Assistant Rural Development Officer Golam Mostafa and officials of various offices of upazila administration were present.
