Auto driver killed in collision between auto- rickshaw, pickup in Narsingdi

The driver of the auto-rickshaw was killed in a head-on collision between a pickup van and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Shibpur upazila of Narsingdi.
The accident took place in front of the Dulalpur Union Parishad office of the upazila at around eight o'clock on Tuesday night.
The name of the deceased is Kamrul Islam Sarkar (45). He is the son of Nurul Islam of Fulbaria area of Palash upazila.
According to police and local sources, the autorickshaw was going to Garbari Bazar with five passengers from Dulalpur Bazar in Shivpur. On the other hand, the pickup van from Garbari was coming towards Dulalpur Bazar. A pickup van and an autorickshaw collided in front of the Dulalpur Union Parishad office. The auto-rickshaw got stuck in it. Autorickshaw driver Kamrul Islam died on the spot. The passengers of the autorickshaw were slightly injured.
Shibpur Police Station Officer-In-Charge (OC) Salahuddin Mia said, autorickshaws and pickup vans have been seized from the spot. The process of sending the body to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital morgue for post-mortem is underway.
After the autopsy, the body will be handed over to the relatives. Legal measures are in process in this incident
