Pagla police arrested a 26-year-old man named Sharful Islam for trying to kill his father and mother in Mymensingh's Gafargaon. The incident took place at Chakua village of the upazila around 10 am on Saturday. Sharful, Md. Ishaq Dhali and Mosha Husna Begum are the eldest son of the couple who tried to kill their parents.

According to police and family sources, Sharful came to the country from abroad on Thursday, March 18. Ever since he came to the country, he has been torturing his family members in various ways. The parents are beaten and the whole family is told to leave the house.

On the afternoon of March 29, in front of his house, he started beating his younger brother Shimul with a stick in front of a tea shop. At one stage, his mother Husna Begum came forward and Sharful started beating her mother.

Unable to find a way out of the situation, Ishaq Dhali reported the incident to Pagla Police Station OC Mohammad Rasheduzzaman on Friday. Sharful got angry around 10 am on Saturday and started beating his parents again. At this stage, the people of the area rushed to the rescue of Sharful's parents.

Upon receiving the information, the police of Pagla Police Station rescued Ishaq Dhali (60) and his wife Husna Begum from the spot and arrested Sharful and brought him to the police station.

Sharfaul's father Ishaq Dhali said, "Since coming from abroad, my son Sharful has been beating me, my wife and my sons for more than 20,000 rupees."

If you want 20 thousand rupees again on Saturday, why the money? Because when he wanted to know, he beat me and hit me in the right hand and knee below the neck. The police arrested him after he lodged a complaint with the police station.

He further said that at around 8 am on Saturday, Sharful brought a knife from my house and threw me on the ground.

Pagla Police Station OC Mohammad Rasheduzzaman said the boy was arrested on the basis of his father's allegations and sent to Mymensingh Jail through a court on Saturday afternoon.
