Attack on journalists protested in Mirsarai

A protest meeting was held in Mirsarai demanding the arrest of those involved in the attack on Hossain Ziyad, the Chittagong bureau chief of Now Television, and photojournalist Parvez, while they were gathering news in Salimpur, Sitakunda.
The journalists held the program under the banner of the United Journalists' Society on Monday afternoon along the Dhaka-Chittagong highway.
The protest rally was chaired by Nurul Alam, Mirsarai correspondent of Daily Amar Desh, and moderated by M. Main Uddin, Mirsarai correspondent of Daily Naya Diganta. The program was addressed by Daily Jugantor correspondent Mahbubur Rahman Palash, Samakal correspondent Bipul Das, Bhorer Darpan correspondent Ashraf Uddin, Manabzamin correspondent Anwarul Haque Nizami, and Ittefaq correspondent Mohammad Yusuf.
The program was attended by Bablu Dey of C Plus and Mirsarai TV, Kaler Konth correspondent M Anwar Hossain, Banikbarta correspondent Raju Kumar Dey, Alokot Bangladesh correspondent Abu Sayeed Bhuiyan, Channel S correspondent Nasir Uddin, Sangram correspondent Sayef Ullah, Inqilab correspondent Imam Hossain, Kalbela correspondent Aziz Azhar, Ekushey Television correspondent Iqbal Hossain Jibon, CVoice correspondent Firoz Mahmud, Prothom Alo correspondent Iqbal Hossain, Mohana TV correspondent Kamrul Islam, Bangla TV correspondent Didarul Alam, Shoro Konthswar correspondent Jabed Bhuiyan, Swadesh correspondent Jabed Hossain, Ajker Patrika correspondent Safayet Mehedi, Janata correspondent Abdul Mannan Rana, Swadesh Bichitra correspondent Robi Karim, Samachar correspondent Kamal Patwari Bachchu and journalists working in various media outlets.
The protest meeting strongly demanded the immediate arrest of the terrorists involved in the heinous attacks on journalists Hossain Ziyad and Parvez. They also demanded immediate exemplary punishment for the killers of all journalists who were killed, including journalist couple Sagar-Runi, for writing against injustice at various times. They also called for an end to the torture of journalists across the country.
