Musallis from four local mosques organized an anti-narcotics mass rally in Ward 6 under Barguna Sadar Union on Friday, demanding a drug-free community.

The demonstration commenced at around 2:00 PM following Jummah prayers, bringing together worshippers from Korok Boithakata Al Nur Jame Mosque, Korok Panchayat Bari Jame Mosque, Daktar Bari Jame Mosque, and Korok BSCIC Jame Mosque. Marching from Boithakata and the BSCIC industrial estate adjacent to the police station, the participants converged at the Korok Sluice square while chanting slogans against drug abuse and illegal narcotics distribution.

The rally was attended by the presidents and general secretaries of the four mosques, local leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Jamaat-e-Islami, and Islami Andolan Bangladesh, alongside general students and citizens from various professions.

Barguna Superintendent of Police Md. Kudrat-e-Khuda, PPM, joined the mass rally accompanied by a special police force unit to express gratitude to the community for their proactive stance.

Addressing the gathering, the Superintendent of Police affirmed that the district police administration is maintaining a zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, urging residents to assist law enforcement agencies in protecting public safety and eliminating drug networks across the region.
