Ansar-VDP detained two alleged drug dealers with cannabis in Manikganj

Members of the Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) arrested two alleged drug traders along with 100 grams of cannabis during a raid in Shibalaya upazila under Manikganj district on Thursday night.
Acting on a tip-off under the directive of the Manikganj Ansar-VDP District Commandant, the operation was coordinated by Shibalaya Upazila Ansar-VDP Instructor Md. Jahidul Islam. The raid was conducted around 8:00 PM on Thursday near a graveyard sand plot in Dashchira village under Olail union.
Union Assistant Ansar Platoon Commander Hridoy Hossain led the operational team, supported by VDP member Md. Roni Mia and local villagers. The team apprehended Arif Mia (20), son of Majnu Mia of Dashchira village, along with an associate, for their alleged involvement in an illicit local narcotics distribution network.
Following the raid, the Ansar-VDP team handed over the arrested individuals along with the seized cannabis to Shibalaya Police Station for necessary legal proceedings.
