To raise awareness and explore collective solutions to the multifaceted challenges of climate change, ActionAid Bangladesh is organizing ‘Nexus Fest 2025’ for the very first time in Satkhira from August 27 to 28.

The festival, to be held at the District Shilpakala Academy, will bring together local communities, youth, civil society representatives, and government stakeholders with a call to build a just and resilient society.

The festival will begin on 27 August 2025 at the District Shilpakala Academy, Satkhira, and continue until 28 August.

The inauguration ceremony will be held on Wednesday (27 Aug) at 9:30 AM, with Mohammad Monirul Islam, Superintendent of Police, Satkhira as the Chief Guest, and Prof Basudev Basu, Principal of Satkhira Government Women’s College, as a Special Guest.

Shoaib Ahmad, UNO, Satkhira Sadar, will also be present as a special guest.

Key highlights of the Festival are :

• Interactive Exhibitions: Showcasing real-life experiences and innovative solutions from local youth organizations, government, and partner institutions.

• Evidence-Based Advocacy: Presenting local issues through youth-led research, debates, and policy dialogues.
• Cultural Performances: Folk traditions such as Jari Gaan, Gambhira, pot Song and theatre will highlight local culture and pressing concerns.

• Community Engagement: Activities including rallies, sports, and creative campaigns to strengthen social cohesion.
Expected Outcomes:

• Grassroots voices from climate-vulnerable regions will be reflected in local and national policymaking processes.

• Harmful social mindsets will be challenged, fostering unity, empathy, and mutual respect.
• Coordination among development agencies, humanitarian actors, government institutions, and communities will be strengthened.

• Youth and community members will emerge as architects of change.

This festival is part of ActionAid Bangladesh’s A4T (Action for Transformation) programme, aiming to ensure climate resilience, peace, justice, and sustainable development with youth leadership at the center.
