A World Turned Upside Down

When donkeys lead the Lions,
And dunces deliver the sermons,
Then Foxes and Hyenas are the most beneficiaries
Doctors, engineers, and scholars have no quarries.
When Scholars are led by the collars,
Barefooted owns the mountains of dollars,
Then Money measures and ignores the status.
Arts, honesty and skills become malicious.
When cowboys and tea boys lead the politics,
Then Blue blood befalls the prey to the false critics
Justice and laws are broken without statistics.
When Muscle controls the head and heart,
Tail shakes the body that becomes a part,
Then Center can’t hold the gyre
Anarchy spreads like a wildfire.
When Cuckoos listen to the harsh crows,
Artists and singers brew their brows,
Prolific poets and writers give birth to silly ideas
That increases the number, not the qualities.
So, death is better than a soulless life
Decay and destroy engraves a useless knife.
The poet is an assistant professor and a PhD candidate at UPM.
