Md Nazmul, Morrelgonj (Bagerhat)

A 3-day climate protection training was organized by ActionAid Bangladesh for "Building Agency of Youth in Climate Action Project" at Morelganj in Bagerhat.

The training was held for 3 days from 21st November to 23rd November in various unions.

About 75 of the 16 unions of the upazila John Youth are trained and certified. Previously supported by British Council Bangladesh Global Platform on Youth-Led Climate Action in Bangladesh 5-day Training of Trainers (TOT) to 8 dynamic young people from Bagerhat to deepen their understanding of climate change and its impacts and address global climate challenges,

Later , these trained youths are bringing together new youths from their own areas to empower future leaders in climate action by encouraging and training these new youths about climate change and its effects.

ActionAid Coordinator, Head of Youth Hub and Mobilization and Training Department Arif Siddiqui said in this regard. , such initiatives are essential to inspire and amplify the voices of young climate activists, providing them with the resources they need to implement innovative projects to combat climate change and promote LocallyLedAdaptation by young people.

Empowered with new knowledge and skills, these youth leaders are poised to make a lasting impact. We are not only sharing knowledge but building skills and confidence among the youth, enabling them to build a fairer, more sustainable world through this project. He further said, Bangladesh is being recognized globally for tackling the climate crisis.

Several international organizations like ActionAid Bangladesh, Youth Net and Global Platform Bangladesh are working alongside the government.
