Noakhali Correspondent

Seven students of Noakhali University of Science and Technology (NUST) are receiving the 'Prime Minister's Gold Medal' in recognition of their achievements in higher education. Seven students of the university have been included in the final list published for the 2019 and 2020 academic years. However, no student from NOUST is named in the list for the 2021 academic year.

Earlier, on October 5, the Bangladesh University Grants Commission (UGC) published a list of a total of 469 meritorious students for the Prime Minister's Gold Medal for the academic years 2019, 2020 and 2021. Among them, there are three students from NUST's academic year 2019 and four from the academic year 2020. According to the list published by the UGC, Shuvod Babu Sen Amit of the Computer Science and Telecommunication Engineering Department, Nazmul Hasan of the Economics Department and Belayet Hossain of the Agriculture Department have been nominated for the gold medal in the academic year 2019.

On the other hand, the four students nominated for the 2020 academic year are Shatabdi Roy Moon of the Department of Computer Science and Telecommunication Engineering, Razia Sultana of the Department of Economics, Mosarra Chowdhury of the Department of Business Administration, and Md. Ishtiaq Hossain Joy of the Department of Agriculture.

This achievement of the seven students has created an atmosphere of joy among the teachers and students of the university. University officials believe that their success will inspire them to do better in higher education, research, and career in the future.
