30-kg hemp, 400 bottles of phensedyl seized, 4 held in Sylhet

Rapid Action Battalion arrested four people after seizure of 30 kilogram hemp and 400 bottles of contraband syrup phensedyl in Sylhet early Monday.
The arrested were identified as Amir Hossain, 51, and Nader Hossain, 30, of Purba Palabanda village at Islampur upazila of Jamalpur district, Ujjal Miah, 33, of Kachuarpar village at Gowainghat upazila in Sylhet, and Fayez Ahmed, 26, of Jangail village of the same upazila, the RAB said.
RAB-9 media officer Md Mashihur Rahman Sohel told that acting on a tip-off, a team of the battalion conducted a drive at Osmani Nagar upazila in Sylhet at about 1:00am and arrested Amir and Nader after recovering 30kg hemp from their possession.
The RAB officer also said that another team of the battalion conducted a raid at the same upazila at about 12:30am and arrested Ujjal and Fayez along with 400 bottles of phensedyl.
He said that the arrested were handed over to the Osmani Nagar police station after filing two separate cases against them.
