16th anniv of DU Tourism and Hospitality Management Dept celebrated

The 16th anniversary of the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management of Dhaka University was celebrated on Wednesday with colourful arrangements.
University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal was present as the chief guest at a function in the business studies faculty premises and inaugurated various programs of the foundation anniversary.
Later on this occasion, a discussion meeting was held at Professor Habibullah Conference Hall.
Departmental Chairman Dr. Professor Santosh Kumar Dev, member of Bangladesh Public Service Commission. Mubina Khondkar is the guest of honor and proctor of Dhaka University.
Md. Maksudur Rahman, General Manager of Hotel Inter Continental Dhaka, Ashwani Nair, CEO of Hotel The Westin Dhaka. Shakhawat Hossain and General Manager of US Bangla. Kamrul Islam spoke as a special guest. Welcome speech was given by the convener of the program. Saud Ahmed.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal congratulated the teachers and students of the department on the occasion of the establishment anniversary and said that the tourism industry is one of the most important and promising sectors of the country.
For the development of this sector, industry-academia relationship should be strengthened and new initiatives should be adopted and implemented. The Vice-Chancellor called upon the teachers and students to further advance the economic development of education and research.
