1.5 lakh pieces of Yaba recovered in Teknaf, one detained

Bangladesh Coast Guard arrested one smuggler with one lakh five thousand pieces of yaba at Teknaf Baharchhara Ghat on Friday afternoon.
Based on secret information, a large consignment of drugs will be smuggled to Cox's Bazar through Baharchhara Ghat under Teknaf police station , an expeditionary team of Coast Guard was stationed at different places of Baharchhara Ghat in disguise on 10th May 2024 from 0300 hrs.
At one stage dawn broke and at approximately 1010 hours, 01 suspicious persons were seen disembarking from a fishing boat coming from the sea at Baharchhara Ghat in Sabrang Union. When Coast Guard personnel signaled him to stop, the boat headed back out to sea and the person who went down tried to run away.
At this time, the Coast Guard members were able to chase and arrest the person. Later, the arrested person, Abul Kalam (36), was searched and 1,05,000 (one hundred and five thousand) pieces of Yaba were seized from a jerry can.
The seized Yaba and the detained person were handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station for further legal action.
