Grameen Bank to be gheroed from Oct 11 : Continuous sit-in program announced by bank retired officials

Leaders of the Grameen Bank Retired Officers and Employees Welfare Council orgsnised a press conference
in front of the National Press Club at 11 am on Saturday at the initiative of the Central Committee of the Retired Officers and Employees Welfare Council of Grameen Bank demanding the implementation of the government's 2004, 2016 and 2018 plans.
An ultimatum of one week was given from the press conference. If the Grameen government does not announce the implementation of the announced plans by October 10, then they announced to hold a continuous sit-in program in front of Grameen Bank from October 11 and to burn effigies of the founder of the bank, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, in all branch offices including the bank's head office and all zonal and area offices.
The press conference, chaired by the organization's president Mahbubul Alam and moderated by General Secretary Mominul Islam, was addressed by former GS of the bank Shariful Islam, Kazi Nasir Uddin, Rafiqul Islam, Shyamal Mitra, Rabiul Awal, Sirajul Islam, Shafiqul Islam, AK Azad, Momtaz Hossain, Sakhawat Hossain Syed Mohsin, among others. Bangladesh Sramik Karmakhari Federation's central president, labor leader Manas Nandi, and organizing secretary Raju Ahmed spoke at the press conference expressing solidarity with the demands of retired officers and employees.
